Brazil presents one of the most complex and opportunity-rich petroleum regimes in the world. For professionals involved in upstream oil and gas projects, understanding how petroleum agreements and joint ventures operate within Brazil’s legal framework is critical to success.
This intensive course provides a structured, practical understanding of how Brazil’s petroleum regime shapes contracts, investment decisions, and joint venture structures.
Participants will also explore Brazil’s constitutional foundations and institutional structure. In particular, the course examines the key roles of National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Petrobras, and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA) in managing production sharing arrangements.
Furthermore, the training explains how government take mechanisms operate within Brazilian PSCs. Topics include cost recovery, profit-oil sharing, royalty regimes, and the taxation framework applied to upstream oil and gas projects.
As a result, participants will learn how to balance legal compliance with financial performance across all PSC disciplines. The programme is designed for energy professionals, legal and fiscal specialists, and industry managers.
Ultimately, the course provides the practical and strategic knowledge required to navigate Brazil’s evolving oil and gas sector.
