Course Summary

Our comprehensive LNG training course provides a detailed exploration of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry, beginning with an introduction to LNG, its significance, and its role in the energy transition. Participants will delve into the product's composition, the phenomena of boil-off and aging, and essential units and conversions.

The course continues with a technical overview of the entire LNG chain, from gas extraction and liquefaction processes to shipping, loading/unloading, storage, regasification, and small-scale LNG. Practical case studies and Q&A sessions enhance understanding.

A global overview of the LNG market is presented, covering its six-decade history, current key figures and trends, major exporters and importers, price drivers, and the roles of portfolio players, traders, and brokers. The shipping and bunkering markets are also discussed, with additional case studies for real-world insights.

Participants will learn about LNG trading and risk management, including underlying indexes, global pricing, trading schemes, portfolio management, risk mitigation, and hedging strategies. Cargo economics and voyage calculations are also covered.

Operational aspects of LNG are addressed, including ship-shore compatibility, scheduling, planning, cargo operations, documentation, measurement, and testing. Real-world operational issues and solutions are explored through examples and Q&A sessions.

The course also covers key trading and shipping agreements, such as LNG master sale and purchase agreements, charter party agreements, and credit support documents, supplemented by case studies.

Finally, the course addresses the decarbonisation challenge, discussing global policies, coal-to-gas switching, LNG-to-power projects, methane emission reduction, e-fuels, carbon capture, and the synergies and challenges of hydrogen integration
